Real Wedding - Cerise & Jackie
05 Sep, 2018
How did you meet?
We met back in 2003 when Cerise was producing a show for Animal Planet called "Adoption Tales." Jackie and her LAPD Bomb dog JJ, a beautiful chocolate lab, were starring in the show. They've been together ever since!
How did you propose?
14 1/2 years later, Jackie proposed underneath a gorgeous oak tree while on a walk in their neighborhood.
What was your favorite part of event planning?
Our favorite things about planning were the venue wedding show (Wedding Show Weekend) when we chose Mountaingate, the cake tasting at Hansen's (we went twice!), and working with Luna Gardens on the amazing theme and florals. Just magical. We laughed with Sergio & Ricardo a lot - we made good friends. We also really enjoyed picking the special music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, event, and wedding video.
Why MountainGate?
The location is not only beautiful and conveniently located, but it was incredibly easy to work with Jacquelyn and Meredith through all the planning steps. We loved the food and wine tasting- we "stalked" the location for months before our event and could not have been happier. The same goes with our guests. Many have said, "Yours was our favorite wedding ever... Can you get married every year?"
Going out for photos on the golf carts at magic hour was incredible. Some of our most amazing photos were taken then. And the specially placed wild dove release was truly majestic!!
What were some of the highlights from your ceremony?
Ceremony highlights include the first looks, walking down the aisle, and the vow exchanges. It was great fun to take the group photo with all of the guests following the ceremony.
Our wedding planner Jennifer Hronek was so wonderful, together, and organized. Everything went off seamlessly thanks to her professionalism and expertise. She's incredible!!
What were some of the highlights from your reception?
We loved the grand entrance, all of the cocktail hour and dinner food & wine, speeches, US Marine Corps & Veteran ceremony and cake cutting with the sword and, let's not forget the mashed potato bar!
The intimate feeling that Luna Gardens crafted beyond the twinkly lit greenery wall was simply breathtaking. It was like entering a fairy tale come to life. It was totally perfect and matched our vision completely.
Any advice for our future couples?
Our advice to future couples would be to take time to savor and enjoy each other and spend as much time as you can with your guests. It goes by fast!
Don't stress over the small stuff and make sure you have fun on your special day... dance, sing, laugh, cry and rejoice in all the special moments along the way.
