Tips on Planning a Wedding Tips on Planning a Wonderful Wedding
Follow these few tips, and you (and your family) will come out smiling. Do Not Put it Off For your own peace of mind, complete as much as you can in advance. If it can be completed in advance, do it!
- Take everything out of its wrapper and take stickers off of items so you aren't struggling with it on the actual day.
- Make sure everything is ready to be placed on the tables.
- Plan Ahead for your Guests Always put on your invitations a half an hour early. This way if you have a few friends or relatives that tend to run late, they will not miss the Ceremony. Even the timely ones can get caught in traffic.
- Gather Everything Together As you gather things during the planning process, place it in the same spot in your house (i.e. Marriage License, Toasting Flutes, Cake Cutting Set, Guest Book, Favors, etc.) That way, when it is game time, you know there is nothing missing or forgotten.
- Delegate to Professionals When the day arrives, the only thing you should be doing is getting pampered and arriving in style with a smile.
- Have a plan in place: who is setting it up, AND who is taking it home? You don't want to be in the middle of your honeymoon and realize you forgot your crystal champagne flutes at the venue.
Speaking of delegating, hire a coordinator! This is so important that it deserves its own section below:
Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Hire a Coordinator:
- Skip over learning how to plan and execute an event because they have already done it! Planning a wedding is like adding on a part time job, so cut yourself some slack and take advantage of their experience.
- They ensure your investments in the event are correctly followed through and nothing is forgotten. Why spend the time planning each detail if there is no one there to make sure it happens?
- Coordinators can spot mistakes or trouble spots in advance because of their experience, so you can sleep better the night before your big day.
- The hired help will focus on the event and will not get caught up in trying to enjoy the event. It is great if family members want to help, but they also want to enjoy your event, so let the coordinator do the work! Give your family a break!
- Someone needs to oversee the setup process while you and your family are basking in the spotlight! When you have over a half dozen vendors coming together, it is essential to have a manager making sure that everything (and everyone) is in it's place before you get there. If there is a hiccup, the coordinator will be able to take care of it instead of vendors calling you on your cell phone all day.
Finally....Don't Sweat the Small Stuff No matter how you plan the PERFECT DAY. There will be things that do not go as planned. Expect the unexpected and roll with it.
