The team at Country Club Receptions wants to highlight one of the San Diego County Clubs, Lomas Santa Fe Country Club, in its recent partnership with the non-profit Wish Upon a Wedding.

On March 20, 2015 the Club will be hosting the wedding of Mikela and her fiancé Aaron.

This will be a special wedding for many reasons, and Lomas Santa Fe will be donating its venue and food for the couple so that they can host their wedding in a beautiful setting and one that they wanted to stay in: their hometown.

A bit about Mikela and Aaron: Mikela has Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and at 22 will undergo her last round of recent chemo on March 15, 2015. Her fiancé Aaron is active military and will be deployed sometime in the spring. Engaged prior to her diagnosis, the couple had to push back wedding plans to pay for medical bills and treatment. That is when they heard about Wish Upon a Wedding.

Wish Upon a Wedding is “the world’s first nonprofit wish-granting organization” that provides “wedding and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-changing circumstances…”

Diagnosis of illness often comes as a major shock and challenge for individuals, families, and couples to face in their lives, and medical bills can add up quickly, depleting any funds prospective couples might have been saving for a wedding or celebration. That’s where Wish Upon a Wedding aims to help. Partnering with first-rate vendors and venues like Lomas Santa Fe Country Club, the non-profit helps organize and create beautiful weddings and receptions for couples who have requested (and were granted) wedding assistance.
