Each year, color industry leader PANTONE choose a Color of the Year, a symbolic color snapshot that is seen as a trendsetter for event décor, swag, and ambiance for the coming year. As described on its website, the PANTONE Color of the Year represents “what we see taking place in our culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.”

And The Winners Are...

This year, 2016, has proven unique. For the first time, two shades together have been named – Rose Quartz and Serenity. Again, as described by the site: “Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.”

That said, this is the year to incorporate both Rose Quartz (a light, blush pink) and Serenity (a calming blue) into your upcoming event!

The blending of the warmer and cooler tones of these colors mirrors modern event themes and aesthetics. The balance between light and dark, matte and shiny, bold and complementary all contribute to memorable events and breathtaking décor. By effortless blending these two shades together, fluid aesthetics develop a calming, welcoming atmosphere. These shades will be extremely popular with weddings, as they are symbolic of bringing two sides together to meld into one.

It is natural to see these colors as purely spring or summer, as they are reminiscent of clear skies and lush gardens. However, they can transition into fall and winter when paired with elements of darker shades of pink and blue.
