Signature cocktails add a personal touch to the wedding and are a great way to express who you are as a couple.

• Give your cocktails a creative name or add a colorful straw or tag to the drink
• Choose something that represents your love story – did a cocktail come in to play the night you first met?
• Make the drinks colorful – they photograph well
• Match the drinks to the theme of your wedding – rustic outdoor wedding serve in mason jars, more elegant affair serve in champagne flutes

To keep costs down, limit them to cocktail hour, a welcome beverage, or self-serve and don’t refill the beverage dispenser.

Keep it simple. Too many ingredients overcomplicate things. Getting the groom involved in choosing his drink will make him feel like he contributed to the planning process.

Use a creative display or menu to showcase the drinks.

Some ideas:

• Window pane
• Printed signage placed on bar
• Set up a self-serve station with beverage dispenser of each cocktail, glasses, garnishes, signage

Signature cocktails take a bit of pressure off of the bar right after the ceremony too. You can have these pre-made and wait staff can pass them out as guests arrive to cocktail hour so the bar doesn’t get inundated all at once.
