Scavenger Hunt Proposal

Kathryn Draney

Proposing marriage can definitely be an overwhelming experience. Getting to the question you want to ask can be daunting, especially when you are trying to be unique, romantic, and one of a kind. If you're trying to go the extra mile and craft a proposal that will last all day instead of a few minutes, we have an idea for you: try a Scavenger Hunt Proposal!

Think of a few places that are meaningful to your relationship and send your partner along with two to three friends or family members to visit these places.

Throw in a salon appointment (hair and nails), and perhaps even a stop at a boutique to pick out a new outfit.

Along the way, have notes or cards (or even a voice recording of yourself) describing what each place or stop signifies. At the end of the scavenger hunt, propose with a romantic view in the background and have all the friends and family members involved in planning the day there to celebrate after.

If you'd like to have a private proposal moment, have the final clue instruct your partner to finish the scavenger hunt alone. They can leave their friends behind as they walk to where you have your proposal set up - but make sure you have someone ready to photograph everything from a distance!. Hiring a professional photographer is a great way to make your proposal memorable and beautiful, but family and friends with cameras work great, too! After you propose, you can reunite with everyone and toast the newly engaged couple.
